Archive I is the first release in the Archive Collection, a series that returns to the household storage vessels that have travelled with people for thousands of years: water jars, grain pots, oil vessels, translated at the proportions and finish of contemporary work. The shapes are old; the bodies are new.
In Black Silt, the vessel takes a deep, near-black brown tone with mineral specks scattered across the body. The exterior holds a soft sheen, the interior is finished with a glossy black glaze, and the two surfaces sit in close conversation as light moves across the piece.
Each piece is handmade, with natural variations in tone, texture and form inherent to the process.
— Designed for surfaces or as a floor-standing piece
