The Alexandra is the fuller of the two Onua vessels, hand-formed in stoneware with a rounded body drawn from the feminine figurative tradition of Akan sculpture. The contoured profile and central taper require a higher degree of precision in shaping.

Anthill is one of the collection’s pigmented clay bodies, hand-textured before firing and finished with a layered oxide wash that produces a roughened surface and natural speckling across the body — a deliberate reference to the worked earth of West African anthill mounds. The interior is sealed with a low-fire glaze formulated in-house, which fires to a molten surface with the depth of cooling fire, set against the raw textured exterior.

Each piece has natural variations in tone, texture, and form inherent to the process.
