The Jordan is the taller and slimmer of the two Onua vessels, hand-formed in stoneware with a plain silhouette and unornamented surface, built around its vertical line.
Sea Sand is the rarest of the collection’s clay bodies, formed from a single clay sourced from a distinct deposit and used only for this colourway. Most clay in the region is high in iron, which helps produce the warm terracotta and dark tones seen across the rest of the collection. This clay is naturally low in iron and pale in its raw state, and requires slower forming and firing to hold its structure, which gives the finished piece its soft cream tone and the natural variation across the body. The exterior is left raw; the interior is finished with a clear glaze, leaving a smooth, reflective surface against the raw clay outside.
Each piece has natural variations in tone, texture, and form inherent to the process.
