The Jordan is the taller and slimmer of the two Onua vase, hand-formed in stoneware with a plain silhouette and unornamented surface, built around its vertical line.
Sahel is one of the collection’s pigmented clay bodies, coloured throughout with iron oxides blended into the clay. The result is a sun-warmed terracotta, pigmented in reference to the Sudano-Sahelian earthen architecture of northern Ghana. The interior is finished with a clear glaze, leaving a smooth, reflective surface against the raw clay outside.
Each piece has natural variations in tone, texture, and form inherent to the process.
